Week12

Finally, we finish our presentaion this week, it was very good, everyone was happy about it. We are still working hard on our system documentation, and hopefuuly it will been done nect week. I think we did very good for this semester, I believe everyone should get a good mark. Thanks, Peter and Alison.

Week11

This week. Thang show us the system which he is nearly done, all I can say is it is amazing, the deign looks very professional, and all function are working prefectly. He really done a good job. So, we are to sharing the task for user documentation. Me and Adrian are doing the test plan, Andy and Ning will do the user manual. And we all agree that Thang do not have to do anything, because he already done a lot for the coding, but he say he will go back to fix something in the system. And next week we have to do the working system demo, so we also need to meet up to dicuss about it sometime next week. Hopefully we will do well for the presentation.

Week10

Not much work for this, Thang wants to do the coding alone, so we cannot do much for him. Because we need to see the program, in order to create the user documentation. So I was working on assignment of other subject in the Studio. Coz after the mid-semester break I will have a lot of assignment need to be done. Hope everyone enjot their break!!!!!

Week9

Good news, on Monday we submitted our design spec on time. In this week studio we are doing another presentation on project management, although Andy is away, but I still feel the presentation was very good. We are the only team present in our tut, coz another group have 2 members miss for no reason, so they doing their presentation in a QA mode. This week Thang decide to changes something in the database structure, on order to fit what he need when he do the programming. I do not mind changes, if it can lead us to better result.

Week8

Big news, Andy will be away for 2 weeks for his workship in Adelaide, and we have to submit our design spec on Monday next week, also to do another projet management presentation in next week studio. Ning and Adrian still working hard for the screen design, hope they will finish it on time. So for me, I am making the PowerPoint slides for presentation in next week, and also assign each part to each member base on everyone's role in the report. I think our group is running very well, although put team leader is away, we still funtioning in a very efficient way. Everyone understand what they have to do and willing to help each other. I believe we will doing well for this semester.

Week7

This week we continue to do our design spec, Ning and Adrain show us what they have been done for the screen design, it looks very good for me. And after group discussion we decided to separate our system into 2 parts, one is for the admin staff, they have the full access of the system. Another is the read-only staff, they are only allow to view and searh certain information. We are having some problem for the software we using, coz Ning and Adrian does not understand PHP so they design the screen in VB, and that means Thang will have to start from nothing when he do the coding. For myself, I finish my part of design spec, and do the ERP diagram for Andy which allow him to have extra time for the introduction and conclusion of the report. We both happy with what we done so far.

Week6

In this week studio we were doing another project management presentation for our funtional spec. We all dress up for that presentation, to make us look more professional. POD said it was a very good practice for us, it will make us used to do the formal presentation. So, every team member was happy with the result. And this week, we get our result back for the functional spec, we get a HD, this actually encourage us a lot. Then we start to do our design spec report, sharing task to every team member. Me and Andy are doing all the digram, model, and the database structure. Ning and Adrain are doing the screen layout design, for Thang we decide to let him to have more time to research on the coding technique,because he is our programmer for the project. Hopefully, we can get the same result in design spec as functional spec.

Week5

The functional spec is nearly finish, so this week we did a run through to make sure everyone understand the events and all the process in our new system. But, most of time we are preparing the project management presentation for next week. So, I was doing the slides of powerpoint and decide what should be include in our presentation. We decided to talk about our aim and objectives once again, to make sure our clients knows about what we are doing, then the problems of the current system, and the opportunities of the new system. We also decide to talk about what we have did so far, we put the event table, and use case diagram into the presentation as well. Hopefully the presentation will go well.

Week4

This is we are working very hard on our Functional Spec Report, we decide to re-do our event table using the whiteboard. Snd also we did the lower level event analysis and the domain model of our system. Although there are some disagreements on the usecase diagram and usecase narrative, we can finally compromise and finish up the functional spec for our system. We are almost finish our functional spec, just need to add the conclusion, Adrian is working hard on that. So, we are on the good track, all I can say is "well done, everyone"

Week3

This week we are doing our Project Management presentation, we decide to came an hour before the studio to practice our presentaion. We talked about our team members' background, our project's aim and objectives, our project plan, and the key deliverables. POD said we did fine, he was happy about our presentaion, I think it encourage the team a lot. After the presentation, we start working on our first deliverables, the functional specification report. We found that the project we doing now is quite different from last semester, because this project doesn't have any procedure. It only record the relationship beteen the external clients and internal Monash staffs. So, first we discuss about our scope, and find the problem with the current system. Then we discuss abot the opportunities, and limitation of the system we are going to develop. Finally, we did the Event analysis, and assign the use case narrative to different member.

Week2

Things start warming up, all team show up this time, so our team actually start working on our project. We decided Andy will be our team leader for this semester, Adrain and Thang will do the design and programming, Me and Andy will do the project management and system analysis. Finally, Ning will do the documentation and support activities. In the studio we are all discussing about our project plan for this semeste, we decide to follow schedule as last semeter when we did the IMS2501. Therefore, in week 5 we will hand in the functional specification report. Week 8, the Design specification, and week11, the Working system, code, user documentation, test plans. Hopeful by week12, we will do our final presentation and prepare for the interview.

Week1

This is the first week of the new semester, POD said it si not much different with last semester, the only different is we have to build the program using the web application. But, I think it will be harder, cause the coding techniques with windows application and web application are quite different. In this semester I have 4 other groupmates in my team, they are Andy, Thang, Ning, and Adrian, I know Thnag from last semester studio already. And as I know, we are going to crreate a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system this time. So, we decide everyone will go back to do some research on that, cause no one really understand what is the CRM system. We also set up our meeting time on Wed after the lecture. Hopefully I can do this semester better
